Projects worth over $173 million coming to three Contra Costa County cities

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded about 10:20 a.m. and saw smoke rising from the duplex on Mandarin Way, according to agency spokesperson Lauren Ono.

Crews pulled the person from the duplex, and an ambulance took that person to a hospital. There were no updates Thursday afternoon on the person’s condition.

Firefighters contained the blaze by 10:30 a.m., Ono said.

Investigators remained at the scene well past the time crews put it out. Ono said they had not determined the cause of the blaze.

Officials did not say whether there were any other residents who lived at the duplex or whether anybody living there was displaced.
