Wish You Were Here
ENGLAND: In July, Oakland residents Caroline and Sean Sorenson walked the Cumbria Way in England. “It is 95 miles, mostly through the Lake District,” Caroline says. “We walked through farmland, mountains, valleys, moors and near many fabulous lakes. We used Contours Holidays, who booked all of our B&Bs and transported our luggage. The Lake District is a very popular destination in the summer, so it’s much easier to have a travel company book the accommodation for you.”

TRAVEL TIPS: “Definitely take at least one rest day to enjoy the small towns you pass through — and a raincoat is essential! We planned one rest day and ended up taking another one, so that we could ride on the Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water.”
