Human remains found at beach in Point Richmond
A person at an East Bay Regional Park in Contra Costa County discovered the decomposing remains of a human body Tuesday, officials said.

In an email, regional parks spokesperson Dave Mason said somebody came upon the remains at Keller Beach within Point Richmond. They were found about about 8:40 p.m., Mason said.
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took control of the remains. They will work to identify the remains and determine the cause of death. The remains were too decomposed to determine whether it was a male or female.
Authorities said there was no threat to public safety.
