Man fatally shot at Oakland apartment complex

OAKLAND — A 44-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night at an East Oakland apartment complex, authorities said.

Police seek driver in fatal East Bay hit-and-run

The man’s name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.  Police have not yet said where the man lived.

The shooting happened about 11:09 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 9400 block of International Boulevard.

Initial reports were that the man killed got into a dispute with another man and was shot, police said.  He was pronounced dead at the complex.

A motive for the shooting has not yet been released.  Police have not announced any arrests.

The killing is the seventh homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.  Last year at this time police had investigated six homicides in the city.
