Man fatally shot in East Oakland
OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Wednesday morning, authorities said.
His name has not been released pending notification of his family.

The shooting happened about 7 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue.
Officers responding to a gunshot detection system alert found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
A motive for the shooting has not been released. No arrests have been announced.
The killing is the 12th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. At this time last year, police had investigated nine homicides in the city.
