Sharks trade two pending unrestricted free agents to Dallas Stars

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks sending two of their pending unrestricted free agents to the Dallas Stars.

Center Mikael Granlund and defenseman Cody Ceci were traded by the Sharks to the Stars on Saturday in exchange for Dallas’ 2025 first-round selection, and a conditional 2025 third-round selection.

San Jose will receive Dallas’ 2025 third-round selection if Dallas advances to the Stanley Cup Final. If Dallas does not reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2025, the Sharks will receive a 2025 fourth-round selection (Winnipeg’s selection) instead.

Both Granlund and Ceci are in the final years of their respective contracts and were set to become UFAs this summer.
