CHP officers were dispatched around 2:10 p.m. to the southbound lanes approaching Highway 92 for a report of a medical emergency, and found a Toyota Sienna parked on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers discovered a man in the back seat. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by fire and medical responders, the CHP said in a news release.
The man has been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as Gerardo Samora Lopez, 30, of Redwood City.
How Samora Lopez died is under investigation, but the CHP said that no foul play is suspected. No additional details were released Thursday.
