
Bay Are Older Adults plan visit to animal farm, jailhouse
Historic jail tour
Orwell meets Elvis for an Animal Farm and Jailhouse Rock Day Trip hosted by Bay Area Older Adults. On April 22, adults ages 50 and older are invited to join a guided tour of the Coastside History Museum and Jail to learn about Half Moon Bay’s farming, surfing and railroad history and listen to jailhouse crime stories.

After lunch, visit an animal farm whose mission is to provide emotional support for those struggling with grief, illnesses and other challenges.
Registration is $140 at https://bit.ly/449IRvr. Participants will meet up at 8:30 a.m. at a location in Cupertino and will be home by 5 p.m.
Building a volunteer base
Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is looking for volunteers to help on National Rebuilding Day on Saturday, April 26.
Project site volunteers are needed to help repair and maintain clients’ homes. These clients are primarily low-income veterans and older adults, families with young children and residents with disabilities.
Rebuilding Together is also looking for photographers to capture the progress at each project site, and warehouse volunteers are needed for various tasks before, during and after Rebuilding Day.
In 2024 Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley engaged 1,116 volunteers who donated 10,990 hours to perform repairs on 256 homes and two nonprofit facilities.
