Hole in one: Heritage junior finds bottom of cup at NCS championships
Ryan Perry, a first-year player on the Heritage High golf team, ended his season in style Monday.
On the Par 3, 253-yard 12th hole at Rancho Solano in Fairfield, the junior pulled a driver from his bag and let his swing take care of the rest.
The ball sailed up the fairway, into a wind, and didn’t stop until it dropped into the cup.
Hole in one.
The ace highlighted a day at the North Coast Section Division I championships in which De La Salle won its fifth consecutive team title and 11th overall.
Dougherty Valley placed second and Foothill was third.
Perry finished his round with an 85 but had one last moment to remember. Earlier in the season, he helped Heritage go 12-0 in Bay Valley Athletic League play and win the BVAL tournament championship.
Shane Nesbitt had Heritage’s top score on Monday, finishing with a 75.
Tamalpais’ Ben Friedman, who shot a 67, was the top individual. Dougherty Valley’s Nakul Shrivastava took second and Foothill’s Sean Kwok was third. Shrivastava and Kwok also finished at 67.
