
Crews battle fast-spreading wildfire in Livermore; 0% contained
LIVERMORE — Crews are battling a 260-acre wildfire that spread fast Thursday in Livermore, throwing up visible flames and smoke.
The Midway Fire sparked at about 3 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Patterson Pass Road and Midway Road, accord to Cal Fire. As of 4 p.m., the fire was 0% contained, and more air and ground resources were en route.
Officials urged residents to keep clear of the area.
The Alameda County Fire Department’s union posted on social media that the fire was initially burning vegetation.
“The wildland season has begun,” the post said.
