First-ever Sunnyvale Restaurant Week features May 31-June 7 deals

The inaugural Sunnyvale Restaurant Week will celebrate the city’s diverse food scene with deals and special dishes at 20-plus restaurants across the city.

The event, presented by the Cityline housing-retail-office development and the Sunnyvale Downtown Association, will run from Saturday, May 31, through Saturday, June 7.

The idea is to entice food lovers with the opportunity to save money while discovering new places and revisiting old favorites. That means the array includes Sunnyvale classics such as Gumba’s and relative newcomers like Urban Plates.

Alma Dessert: Purchase a tiramisu (several flavor choices) and beverage combo for $15.

Bean Scene Cafe: Get 20% off the cafe’s most popular items: Breakfast Crepe, Nutella Crepe and Spicy Chicken Burger.

Delhi to Kathmandu: Special pricing on Chicken Momos or Vegetable Momos ($10 per five pieces), Chicken Sekuwa Skewers ($14), Mango Lassi Margarita ($10), among other deals.

Fibbar Magee’s: Special dishes for the week include Mussels in Garlic Wine Sauce ($15.95), Fibbar’s Salmon Wrap ($16.95), Erin’s Chicken Salad ($14.95) and Irish Flag Salad ($9.95).

Gumba’s: Three-course meals offered for $40 include appetizer (soup, salad, side), dessert (cannoli, cheesecake, flan, chocolate cake) and a lunch-size entree of Meat Lasagna, Tilapia over Spaghetti, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Cajun Linguine Chicken or other pasta/pizza choice.

Inchin’s Bamboo Garden: Orders of Tandoori Momo, Tibetan Momo, Szechuan Chicken Potstickers and other appetizer plates are priced at $11 for the week.

Mayan Kitchen: The $75-for-two feast offers two cocktails and four plates from a selection including Wagyu Beef Empanadas, Vegan Empanadas, Cochinita Pibil, Elotes, Queso Fundido, among others.

Moods Wine Bar: Flatbread pizzas (Margherita, Mediterranean, Bacon-Goat Cheese and more) are $13 to $15 for the week, and bottles of wine are 10% off.

Naan N Masala: The special three-course, $35-per-person meal includes appetizer (Veggie Samosas or Aloo Tikkis), dessert (Gulab Jamun or Kheer) and entree from a large selection including Channa Masala and Punjabi Kadi, plus rice and naan.

Nature’s Organic Ice Cream: This week, buy four pints and get one free, or spend $30 and get a scoop free.

Off the Rails Brewing Company: The $13 Lunch Special includes a complimentary beer and features choices such as the Western BBQ Burger, Tri-Tip Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Roasted Beet Salad. Brunch entrees come with a free Beermosa.

Pacific Catch: The $45 meal deal includes an Ahi Poke or Guacamole and Chips appetizer, followed by Hawaiian Chicken Teriyaki or West Coast Salmon Bowl, and a Brownie Sundae.

Teazzi Tea Shop: Purchase a Pure Tea Flight (five teas) for $5,75 or a Milk Tea Flight (five teas) for $6.25.

The Melt: Join The Melt Rewards program, spend $15 and get a free order of seasoned, sweet or cheese-bacon fries (valued at $5.99).

The Oxford Kitchen & Gastropub: The three-course $69 meal specials offers an entree choice of Beef Wellington, Lobster Gnocchi or Chargrilled Ribeye Steak, along with an appetizer of Crab-Topped Bone Marrow, Dungeness Crab Cakes or Mushroom-Chickpea Kibbeh. The dessert selections include Passionfruit Panna Cotta and Chocolate Banoffee Tart.

Urban Plates: Get a three-course meal for two people for $59. Pick out two starters, with choices like Chicken Tortilla Soup and Side Caesar; two entrees from a list that includes Grass-fed Steak, Barramundi Seabass and Grilled Parmesan Shrimp; and two desserts from such options as Mango Tart, Banana Cream Pie and gluten-free Chocolate Cake.
