NBA All-Star Game salutes Bay Area music scene with great lineup of talent

Organizers are set to salute the rich music scene of the Bay Area during the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16 at the Golden State Warriors’ Chase Center in San Francisco.

The most intriguing element to the Bay Area-centric music event will occur when DJ Cassidy leads a really cool Bay Area edition of his popular “Pass the Mic Live!” series, where R&B and hip-hop performers sing along — and then pass the mic to others — on iconic tunes.

This time around, the DJ (who actually hails from New York City) will be passing the mic to such Bay Area greats as E-40, Too $hort, Saweetie and En Vogue.

Also, Oakland’s own Raphael Saadiq will deliver “a special performance to welcome fans to the Bay Area and introduce the 2025 NBA All-Stars” prior to tip-off, according to a NBA All-Star Game news release.
